Machinist - SEDM

Role Overview

This role involves precise machining of components such as cores, cavities, and other elements following detailed drawings and plans. Candidates will be responsible for the effective planning and utilization of fixtures needed for Sink EDM processes and ensuring all jobs meet stringent accuracy criteria.

Key Duties

• Perform machining on core, cavity, and other elements based on provided engineering drawings.
• Plan critical fixtures required for Sink EDM operations.
• Ensure tasks achieve designated precision and tolerance levels.
• Recommend suitable spark gaps and select appropriate machining processes to attain desired dimensions and surface finishes.
• Interpret electrode offset drawings and execute sink EDM machining in accordance with specified dimensions.
• Report daily and monthly utilization metrics of machines.

Tools and Equipment

• Sink EDM machines such as Agie Charmilles, Makino, Sodick.
• Measuring instruments and metrology equipment.
• Standard office equipment: telephone, computer, photocopier, fax.

Technical Skills

• Understanding of electrode design and selection of spark gaps aligned with machining requirements.
• Practical knowledge of metrology instruments used in machining processes.
• Experience operating CNC Sink EDM machines (Agie Charmilles, Makino, Sodick).
• Basic proficiency in computer usage.

Personal Attributes

• Good visual acuity for detailed work.
• Flexibility to work in rotating shifts.

Industry Experience

Experience in the Precision Tooling and Mould Making sector is preferred.
