- Prepare specimen samples in strict compliance with CSA, ASTM, and ASME standards as well as customer specifications.
- Employ Manual G-Code programming (Haas Control) and Conversational Programming (Proto-Trak) to set up specialized machining tasks.
- Conduct precise inspections and quality control checks using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure finished parts meet tight tolerance requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues to limit downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace following established safety protocols despite fast-paced environments and tight deadlines.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a recognized Certified Journeyperson credential in machining.
- Bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience operating manual/conventional machining equipment.
- Demonstrate strong skills in interpreting technical blueprints, engineering drawings, cutting tooling, and material specifications.
- Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods and handle lifting of raw materials as part of daily tasks.
- Exhibit problem-solving abilities, effective time management skills, commitment to continuous improvement, and capacity to work independently or collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience or background in a material testing environment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery, especially Haas, Makino, Proto-Trak units, or EDM Wire technology, is preferred.
