Group Overview

The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting (MML) group is focused on automotive innovations that shape future mobility. Their expertise includes developing customized vehicle access solutions, intelligent vision systems, and advanced lighting technologies that enhance safety and styling on vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze tooling prints to determine material specifications and machining needs.
• Perform comprehensive tool and die component fabrication for both new and existing tools as dictated by tool & die maker directives.
• Operate milling machines, drill presses, various grinders, band saws, cut-off saws, lathes, layout tables, measuring instruments, and heat treat ovens in executing machining tasks.
• Document and maintain time records to track the hours invested per project.
• Identify and comply with all relevant environmental and safety regulations during work activities.
• Adhere to the company's Business Management and Environmental Management System standards.
• Support continuous improvement efforts within the Techform unit and help meet organizational operating system objectives.
• Contribute to achieving high levels of both internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or their delegates.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of high school (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
• Post-secondary education combined with full certification as a general machinist following the associated apprenticeship is compulsory.
• Proficiency in interpreting and producing engineering prints is essential.
• Understanding of CNC concepts and operations is necessary.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is considered an advantageous asset.
• Effective verbal and written communication capabilities are required.
• Meticulous attention to detail is critical to success in this role.
