Machine Operator (Operator Bedding BIB) 2nd Shift

Position Overview

We are seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift (2:30 pm - 11:00 pm) at our Calgary plant. This role is responsible for safely running designated machinery used in producing components and finished goods according to a daily production plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operation inspections on assigned machinery to ensure readiness.
• Adhere strictly to work instructions and production schedules.
• Operate machinery safely and efficiently during the shift.
• Maintain accurate production records within the SAP system.
• Execute quality inspections to verify compliance with customer specifications.
• Print shipping labels or log production data in SAP as required.
• Label all finished goods correctly before dispatch.
• Operate heat bond irons to seal packaging materials properly.
• Carry out routine basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks on equipment and in work areas.
• Dispose of departmental waste and keep the workstation clean and organized.
• Engage in continuous improvement by applying Kaizen principles.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills required.
• Competent in reading and interpreting tape measurements.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Familiarity with SAP and UKG is preferred.

Experience

• Preferred 1 to 2 years of manufacturing experience.
