Job Overview

We are looking for a capable and meticulous Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role entails managing and running production machinery, overseeing quality control, and utilizing SAP software to handle inventory tasks. The operator will play a key role in ensuring smooth foam production with high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use SAP to create inventory tags within the ATS system, ensuring precise verification of foam buns.
• Estimate shrinkage and efficiency of flat foam buns for correct inventory tagging.
• Observe foam block height and air flow during production to maintain control over the manufacturing process.
• Operate automated equipment such as cutoff saws, conveyors, airlocks, and downstream production systems.
• Identify and rectify or report any foam production defects promptly.
• Label foam products correctly, cut and mark samples when required, and maintain detailed records.
• Conduct daily inspections of the bun room, evaluate previous day’s pours, and communicate observations to management.
• Address bun cutting challenges and propose improvements to production processes.
• Clear waste film post-pouring and clean excess foam and machine surfaces to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Safely operate the 200-foot bun room crane as needed.
• Manage slurry systems for both trial and official production pours.
• Oversee automated systems to ensure continuous and efficient functioning.

Qualifications and Required Skills

• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification; technical or vocational education preferred.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in a machine operator position or related production role.
• Familiarity and proficiency in SAP or equivalent inventory management software.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong capability to detect and address production problems.
• Working knowledge of foam manufacturing processes and operation of automated machinery.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to communicate actionable feedback effectively.
• Competent and safe operation of heavy equipment, including cranes.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Must be able to lift substantial weights (exact poundage unspecified), stand for prolonged durations, and perform physically demanding tasks within a factory setting.
• Comfortable working in noisy, machine-filled environments with potential exposure to chemical substances.
