About the Role
Join idealo internet GmbH in Berlin as a Machine Learning Operations Engineer dedicated to the Personalization product initiative. This role focuses on developing scalable, cloud-based machine learning systems that enhance the user shopping journey by delivering personalized experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable machine learning infrastructures on AWS cloud services.
- Create and deploy production-level ML pipelines encompassing training, inference, monitoring, and automated retraining processes.
- Implement machine learning models in live environments to support personalized recommendations, discovery feeds, search ranking, and related functionalities.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code and contemporary CI/CD methodologies to build cloud-native infrastructures.
- Ensure systems exhibit high availability, observability, and operational excellence.
- Work collaboratively with software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and UX designers to continuously enhance personalized customer experiences.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of three years' experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Software Engineer, or Cloud Engineer with hands-on exposure to production ML systems.
- Advanced programming proficiency in Python and competence in building cloud-native applications, preferably on AWS.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with ML platforms like AWS SageMaker or equivalent solutions, including deploying, operating, and monitoring machine learning models in production.
- Robust understanding of machine learning concepts, model evaluation techniques; knowledge or experience in recommendation systems, search, ranking, vector search, or embeddings is highly advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members; fluency in English is required, German language skills are a plus.
