A VC-backed artificial intelligence startup in London is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer specializing in physics-related AI applications. The company focuses on developing foundational AI models to replace traditional physics simulation approaches, targeting challenging problems in automotive, aerospace, and energy sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Develop core machine learning models and contribute heavily to architecture design.
- Deploy highly efficient AI systems integrated into real-world engineering design optimization pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with machine learning researchers, software engineers, and industry partners to solve industrial and environmental challenges.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a MSc or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrate proven experience applying machine learning techniques to intricate real-world problems, preferably those involving geometric or physical system data.
- Have a comprehensive grasp of ML theoretical concepts such as optimization, generalization, and various model architectures.
- Strong proficiency in Python along with practical expertise in ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- Experience in deploying ML models within production environments with ongoing monitoring.
- Effective communication skills to explain complex ML ideas to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications
- Understanding of aerodynamics or computational fluid dynamics principles.
- Experience incorporating physical constraints or physics-informed learning into ML models.
- Knowledge of geometric ML representations, including 3D data or mesh structures.
