Loss Prevention Specialist

Role Overview

Amazon's fast and reliable operations network delivers millions of packages daily, and to ensure security and uninterrupted business operations, we seek a meticulous and proactive Security and Loss Prevention (SLP) Specialist. You will be responsible for delivering security services across our operational sites within the supply chain, safeguarding personnel, and preventing losses.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in enhancing business resilience by contributing to emergency and crisis preparedness planning for your designated sites.
• Identify vulnerabilities such as potential losses, employee experience issues, and process inefficiencies, proposing appropriate mitigation strategies in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Act as the main liaison for local management and external entities including law enforcement and industry groups to manage security-related risks.
• Ensure adherence to Amazon’s global security standards across assigned sites.
• Conduct routine physical security inspections and thoroughly investigate incidents, policy breaches, and loss events.
• Gather and analyze data from monitoring tools and interviews to uncover process weaknesses and support the development of corrective measures.
• Maintain the operational integrity of physical security systems, coordinating upkeep with subject matter experts and external vendors.
• Engage daily with external security service providers to guarantee high-quality security and a positive customer experience.
• Serve as a knowledge expert on Security and Loss Prevention for various departments including legal, HR, and local authorities.
• Deliver educational sessions and awareness programs about loss prevention to different teams and collaborate on policy implementation at all organizational levels.

About the Team

Part of the Global Security Operations organization, Security and Loss Prevention plays a crucial role in protecting Amazon's business interests by safeguarding associates, customers, assets, and the brand. The team works collaboratively with stakeholders to secure the supply chain, prevent risks, respond to incidents promptly, and investigate to eliminate root causes of security breaches.

Basic Qualifications

• Professional experience in security services, asset protection, loss prevention, risk management, inventory control, investigations, supply chain, auditing, or compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Fluency in German (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Competency in Business English communication, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
• Knowledge of physical security best practices, including security system use, investigation methods, and managing security personnel.
• Experience working in distribution centers, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work with data and analytics.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
