About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Logistics Specialist to join our team in the food sector based in Saudi Arabia. This role requires extensive hands-on expertise in managing logistics, international shipments, and customs clearance within Saudi Arabia. The candidate must thoroughly understand the logistics process from shipment dispatch to final delivery and clearance, not just shipment tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and track shipments from dispatch until full clearance and arrival in Saudi Arabia.
- Facilitate coordination between suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and transportation providers.
- Manage international shipping operations, customs clearance, and final delivery processes effectively.
- Ensure compliance with customs clearance requirements utilizing the FASAH platform in Saudi Arabia.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of shipping and customs documentation.
- Handle customs-related activities including declarations, inspections, duties, fees, and shipment releases.
- Guarantee that imported food shipments comply with Saudi Arabian regulations.
- Address and resolve any issues related to shipments, documentation, or customs clearance.
- Continuously monitor estimated times of arrival, shipment status, clearance phases, and delivery schedules.
- Keep precise records and shipment trackers to maintain logistics transparency.
- Supervise and control logistics expenses such as freight charges, clearance fees, detention, demurrage, and storage costs.
- Compile and present regular reports on shipment progress and logistics status.
Requirements
- Possess 3 to 5 years of direct experience in logistics operations.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related fields.
- Demonstrate thorough expertise in international shipping and customs clearance processes in Saudi Arabia.
- Have hands-on knowledge of the Saudi customs clearance procedures and practical use of the FASAH platform.
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transportation companies.
- Prior experience with food import logistics is highly preferred.
- Strong familiarity with shipping and import documentation standards.
- Excellent coordination, follow-up, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Fluent command of both Arabic and English languages is essential.
