Loader Technician - 1st Shift Rotating

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and load green coffee into the Green Coffee Cleaning system and silo storage units.
• Keep an eye on and maintain the green coffee dust collection system.
• Collaborate with roasting and logistics teams to ensure timely scheduling.
• Provide guidance and training to newly onboarded loader technicians.
• Maintain precise inventory records and document incoming products at the dock.
• Operate forklifts to move green coffee from interim storage to loading areas efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and conduct preventive maintenance on loading stations and storage areas.
• Inform maintenance teams of any operational or safety issues with loading or transfer equipment.
• Embed safety as a core principle, adhering to protocols like PPE and Lock Out Tag Out and promoting similar behaviors within the team.
• Support programs related to food safety, quality control, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain product quality via adherence to GMP, preventative controls, and quality checks, documenting analytical data accordingly.
• Execute other tasks as needed aligned with Starbucks' mission and business goals.
• Exhibit consistent attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma, GED, or four years of service in the U.S. military.
• Minimum two years in production or distribution environments.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Ability to safely lift up to 150 pounds, possibly with assistance.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong decision-making capabilities and attention to detail.
• Competency in conducting inventory counts and basic math operations.
• Capacity to follow verbal instructions and comprehend written policies, specifications, and safety standards.
• Knowledge of equipment upkeep and problem-solving skills related to troubleshooting.
• Self-driven and able to work effectively in diverse team settings.
• Flexible to work varying shifts as business needs dictate.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards such as FDA Preventive Controls and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
• Preferred experience with GFSI certification programs like BRC or SQF.
