Role Overview
The Falcon compiler, a core technology of Azul Platform Prime, is an LLVM-based Just-In-Time (JIT) compiler for Java bytecode that achieves unparalleled performance levels in Java execution. We are seeking an experienced LLVM Compiler Engineer to contribute to enhancing Falcon's capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with a globally distributed yet highly interactive team of compiler specialists.
- Design and implement new features and optimizations within the Falcon compiler to elevate performance.
- Enhance LLVM's efficacy specifically for managed languages.
- Engage actively in open-source contributions related to compiler technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in C and C++ coding and system design.
- At least five years of professional experience developing LLVM compilers or equivalent experience with other compiler technologies.
- Strong foundational understanding of compiler principles and development methodologies.
Preferred Skills and Experiences
- Experience developing language runtimes and Just-In-Time compilers.
- In-depth knowledge of x86_64 and/or ARM64 instruction sets and related optimization techniques.
- Background in performance analysis.
- Familiarity with Java, Scala, or Kotlin programming languages.
- Advanced academic qualifications such as a PhD in Computer Science or considerable research expertise.
