Litigation Team Overview
The Litigation division at LEAP specializes in developing software tailored specifically for litigation lawyers. This cross-disciplinary group includes legal experts, software engineers, designers, and product specialists collaborating to create effective, high-impact tools that mirror real-world litigation processes. Their products cover the entire litigation lifecycle, from matter creation and court documentation to AI-enabled drafting and client reporting tools. The Litigation Lawyer role is pivotal in bringing NSW litigation expertise into product design, ensuring accuracy, usefulness, and practical value.
Role Responsibilities
- Partner with product managers to identify and prioritize litigation-related features based on client input, prevailing market conditions, and business objectives.
- Provide in-depth legal knowledge regarding workflows, court procedures, and documentation to inform precise and applicable product development.
- Conduct thorough testing and assessments of software to verify its effectiveness in real legal environments.
- Engage directly with clients for training, feedback collection, and identifying workflow enhancement opportunities.
- Contribute to refining software functionalities to minimize inefficiencies and optimize litigation matter management.
- Stay informed on the latest trends and changes in litigation practice to guide future product evolution.
Candidate Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in litigation, with comprehensive exposure to NSW litigation and preferably some experience in federal litigation.
- Proficiency in managing various contentious legal matters, with solid understanding of litigation procedures, court workings, document flow, and managing cases from start to finish.
- Strong drafting capability coupled with sound legal judgment, able to translate complex legal processes into straightforward, functional workflows.
- Willingness or prior experience collaborating within interdisciplinary teams comprising legal, product, and engineering professionals in a technology-focused company.
- Enthusiasm for engaging with clients directly, gathering their input, and enhancing litigation workflows.
- An active interest in legal technology, process automation, and the future trajectory of legal services.
