Job Overview
The Linen Attendant role involves managing linen supplies efficiently within a healthcare facility, ensuring cleanliness standards, and maintaining orderly storage areas to support hospital operations.
Key Duties
- Collect soiled linens from patient rooms and other designated areas.
- Sort cleaned linens and redistribute them appropriately across the facility.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and document linen orders as needed.
- Inspect linens for quality based on established criteria and return any substandard items to the corporate laundry facility.
- Handle loading, unloading, and operation of washers and dryers responsibly.
- Keep linen storage rooms organized and clean at all times.
Qualifications
- No formal education or prior experience is necessary for this position.
- Must possess the ability to work independently while understanding facility layouts.
- Perform tasks carefully without interrupting the workflow of medical staff, patients, or visitors.
- Ability to prioritize duties and follow departmental rules and procedures consistently.
- Basic proficiency with computer operations is required.
- Strong customer service orientation.
Physical and Work Conditions
- Capability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds to various heights occasionally.
- Ability to drag a 55-pound bucket for distances up to 40 feet.
- Must be capable of pushing loads requiring a force of 20 pounds over extended distances.
- Retrieve objects as light as 5 pounds from low to waist-level, including reaching tasks.
