Lighting Engineer

About the Role

CGC Recruitment is inviting applications for a Lighting Engineer to become a part of the Perth-based building services team within a prominent multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. This role is ideal for an individual who blends technical lighting design expertise with creativity, and thrives in collaborative environments involving architects and other engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating lighting designs, preparing layouts, and specifying appropriate fixtures and systems.
• Performing lighting calculations and simulation modeling to ensure design effectiveness.
• Developing detailed technical reports and comprehensive design documentation.
• Coordinating design efforts with architects and other engineering disciplines for cohesive project execution.
• Participating in client meetings and project discussions to align lighting solutions with client needs.
• Ensuring all designs comply with relevant Australian Standards and project-specific requirements.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in lighting design within a building services consultancy or closely related setting.
• Possession of a relevant qualification in engineering, lighting design, or a related field.
• Proficient in utilizing lighting calculation and modeling software such as AGi32, DIALux, or equivalent tools.
• Solid understanding of applicable Australian Standards and energy efficiency guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
• Keen attention to detail with a passion for how lighting influences architectural environments.
