Job description
Role Overview
The Life Support Instructor actively leads all life support training courses, ensuring instructional quality and compliance with licensing requirements. Responsibilities include curriculum development, student performance evaluation, and managing training resources across various healthcare programs.
Key Duties
- Serve as the primary instructor for all LSTC programs, attending instructor training as necessary.
- Develop course curricula and agendas for both Basic and Advanced life support programs, including preparation of educational materials and assessment tools.
- Conduct written and practical assessments to evaluate student competency and certification eligibility.
- Provide remedial support when required and issue completion certificates and course cards.
- Plan and execute Mock Code scenarios (BLS, ACLS, NRP) for healthcare staff with thorough monitoring and proper documentation.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards through equipment cleaning and assist with troubleshooting any issues.
- Manage inventory of training equipment to align with quality and safety protocols.
- Prepare training rooms and skill laboratories to meet clinical requirements and coordinate with staff schedules.
- Collaborate regularly with managerial teams to review training progress and ensure compliance with resuscitation training policies.
- Maintain effective communication within multidisciplinary clinical and educational teams.
- Attend departmental meetings to aid in planning and implementation of training workflows and LSTC guidelines.
- Optimize resource utilization to achieve training objectives and assist with procurement of necessary supplies.
- Consolidate test results in the SHA portal and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in external outreach programs to provide life support training at other healthcare organizations as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and presentations.
- Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to balance multiple tasks effectively.
- A minimum of three years teaching experience in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or related courses.
Educational and Certification Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS/MD) from an accredited institution or Registered Nurse with BSc/MSc in Nursing, holding valid country-specific registration with background in health sciences.
- Current certifications from American Heart Association (AHA) and Saudi Heart Association (SHA) in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
