Role Overview

As an Industrial Mechanic Millwright, you will be crucial in supporting production operations through industrial maintenance to enhance efficiency, increase productivity, and minimize operational costs. This position operates on a continental rotating shift schedule with 12-hour day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance tasks on all machinery, identifying and resolving mechanical issues and breakdowns.
• Install and repair mechanical equipment and systems.
• Adhere to all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment, working from blueprints, schematics, shop orders, and instructions.
• Coordinate maintenance tasks during planned shutdowns in collaboration with supervisors.
• Manage mechanical supplies inventory and orders as needed.
• Install, dismantle, inspect, repair, rebuild/overhaul, and reinstall mechanical components such as motors, gearboxes, drives, chains, pulleys, hydraulic systems, air systems, filters, and aids; also perform predictive maintenance and gather data for replacement parts.
• Conduct routine machine commissioning.
• Examine and maintain equipment to ensure continuous plant operation.
• Perform minor tool adjustments and lubrication.
• Carry out prescribed preventative maintenance on scheduled equipment.
• Participate in 5S initiatives to maintain workplace organization.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with maintenance supervisors and team members.
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using various hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and welding equipment.
• Operate under strict safety protocols and procedures.
• Hold certifications/licences for crane, forklift, elevated work platform, and confined space work.
• Be available for rotating continental shifts.

Qualifications

• Provincial Industrial Mechanical/Millwright license (433A) required.
• Completion certificate of apprenticeship from Skilled Trades Ontario.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Reliable attendance record.
• Adept at working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capability.
