Job description
Role Overview
This position focuses on assisting the General Counsel by managing legal and governance responsibilities crucial for fulfilling the company’s operational needs. The role involves thorough assessment of legal agreements, contracts, and other documents while ensuring compliance with Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) governance and other regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide management with thorough legal analysis to support decision-making, including advising on legal consequences, negotiating contracts, supervising compliance, and managing disputes and litigation with a view to protecting the company and enabling steady growth.
- Manage regulatory compliance and support audit processes to ensure adherence to both regulatory and internal policies.
- Assist the General Counsel in legal and governance mandates, including documenting meetings, liaising with government bodies such as MoC, MISA, SAMA, and CITC, preparing dual-language resolutions, maintaining digital legal archives, and updating relevant policy registers.
- Implement and enforce compliance with approved policies and industry regulations among operational teams, review and maintain contracts approved by the General Counsel, and provide legal insights across business units during contract drafting phases.
- Offer legal guidance on new product launches and projects, ensuring alignment with SAMA and Ministry of Commerce (MoC) requirements.
- Analyze new legal regulations, assess their impacts, and communicate findings to senior management to uphold the company's compliance standards.
- Ensure all marketing materials and advertisements comply with CITC, SAMA, and Sharia’a Board regulations before endorsement.
- Coordinate with Compliance, Internal Audit, General Counsel, and HR departments, serve as a contact point for governance-related employee queries, and promote awareness of governance standards.
- Periodically review policies, procedures, and manuals to ensure currency, proper approval, compliance with law, and proper documentation.
- Adhere to and promote safety, quality, and environmental protocols to maintain a safe workplace.
- Develop, implement, and manage departmental policies, procedures, and operating instructions to ensure consistency and control in work processes.
- Comply fully with departmental guidelines and processes.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) or Political Science with a Master’s in Law (LL.M).
- Between 4 and 8 years of professional legal experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Solid grounding in Companies Law; familiarity with applicable SAMA regulations is advantageous.
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
- Possesses a positive mindset, eagerness to learn, and openness to constructive criticism.
- Exhibits discipline, resilience, strong commitment, and responsibility.
- Willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
Compensation
The offered salary range is 20,000 to 30,000 SAR per month.
