Role Overview

As Learning & Development Manager, you will lead the company’s learning strategy by designing, planning, and executing a comprehensive L&D roadmap aligned with business priorities. Responsibilities include embedding core capabilities, establishing a Manager Development Program, implementing a unified Learning Management System (LMS), and consolidating leadership, compliance, onboarding, and product training into one centralized function. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will act as the strategic owner, making key decisions and engaging leadership to drive impactful learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a 12-month learning and development strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Integrate LEAP's Core Capabilities into training programs, management development, and everyday workplace practices.
  • Design and launch the Manager Development Program, facilitating sessions and coaching leaders to apply learning within their teams.
  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing enhancement of a single Learning Management System for hosting, tracking, and reporting learning activities.
  • Lead and unify product training, compliance, and onboarding efforts to ensure consistent and efficient employee development.
  • Collaborate with People & Culture teams, executive leadership, and internal and external experts to craft scalable learning solutions.
  • Measure participation and effectiveness using data analytics to identify successes and areas for improvement.
  • Manage the L&D budget creatively, delivering high-impact programs within financial constraints.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

  • Proven experience in leading and owning L&D strategy and program delivery, ideally within fast-paced tech or professional services sectors.
  • Strong bias toward action, capable of making prompt decisions with limited information and iterating quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans with clear milestones and successful execution.
  • Exceptional communication skills for articulating ideas clearly and compellingly, gaining leadership buy-in both in writing and presentations.
  • A high level of accountability, including proactive stakeholder communication and risk identification.
  • Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, and behavioral change methodologies to create effective programs.
  • Practical experience implementing or managing Learning Management Systems, including reporting functionalities.
  • Competency in facilitation and coaching, effectively engaging audiences ranging from entry-level employees to senior executives.
  • Resourceful and creative in delivering impactful learning initiatives within budget limitations.
  • Preferably certified in leadership diagnostic tools such as Human Synergistics (LSI), The Leadership Circle, or DiSC.

Company Culture and Perks

  • Meaningful work that supports lawyers and their communities.
  • Empowerment to contribute to significant projects with autonomy and trust.
  • Collaborative workplace with passionate and authentic colleagues.
  • Flexible and hybrid working options, with an ideal base in Sydney.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and skill growth aligned with personal interests.
  • Engaging social activities including celebrations, sports, and sailing events.
  • Comprehensive wellbeing support including an extra paid wellbeing day, free gym membership, corporate dental plan, and regular office massages.
  • Modern office amenities featuring catered weekly meals, a stocked kitchen, and an on-site barista.
