Learning Assistant

Role Overview

The Learning Assistant supports the lead preschool teacher in fostering a secure, caring, and stimulating classroom environment. Responsibilities include aiding classroom management, preparing teaching materials, supervising activities, and encouraging children's social, emotional, and intellectual growth based on the curriculum and the preschool's educational aims.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering daily lesson plans, activities, and educational games aligned with the preschool program.
• Supervise children during various classroom routines including play, meals, and outdoor time to ensure safety and encourage positive behavior.
• Support behavior management by reinforcing rules and guiding children in social and emotional development.
• Organize and prepare classroom materials and displays to enhance hands-on learning and creativity.
• Maintain cleanliness, order, and hazard-free classroom environment, including sanitizing toys and surfaces.
• Provide tailored support through one-on-one or small group assistance when needed.
• Observe and report children's progress or concerns to the lead teacher.
• Assist with daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals, and rest to foster independence.
• Model respectful, inclusive, and cooperative conduct to nurture a positive classroom culture.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain consistency in educational and childcare practices.

Qualification Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Education specializing in Preschool or equivalent qualification is required.
• Completion of the TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) Training Course is expected.
• Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare environment is preferred.
