Lead, Urban Planning & Design (Qatarization)

About the Role

Qatari Diar invites applications for a dynamic Urban Planning & Design Lead to spearhead master planning and design initiatives for local projects in Doha, Qatar. This role demands a Qatari national with a robust background in real estate master planning across diverse asset classes, preferably within major development entities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic planning advice concerning masterplans, design standards, and overall project development.
• Develop and revise design guidelines and building regulations across districts of Lusail city to align with the overarching masterplan vision.
• Formulate and update parcel plans for individual plots consistent with the masterplan's objectives.
• Conduct studies and draft reports analyzing urban policy trends and their influence on market dynamics.
• Offer expertise and assistance during cadastral surveys aimed at establishing or reaffirming property boundaries.
• Lead communications related to land adjustments, plot access modifications, utility changes, and Gross Floor Area (GFA) alterations.
• Support the Building Permit team technically to ensure submitted designs conform with Lusail’s masterplan vision.
• Manage regular stakeholder inquiries from developers and consultants about project proposals.
• Design and update guidelines governing building signage and commercial activities within Lusail, coordinating with relevant governmental bodies.
• Direct periodic surveys in Lusail to report on any violations concerning signage and commercial operations.
• Collaborate with government authorities to improve and streamline departmental services.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Must be a Qatari national with at least six years of professional experience in real estate master planning involving large-scale developments.
• Holds a bachelor's degree in architecture, urban planning, or urban design.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of governmental procedures, policies related to land use planning, land management, and town planning regulations.
• Familiar with city ordinances, zoning laws, permitting processes, and related regulations governing land use.
