Job description
Job Role Overview
We seek a Lead Telecommunication Engineer to coordinate and oversee communications engineering efforts within projects, ensuring proper design execution and managing engineering teams specialized in communications technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Senior Communications Engineers to guarantee accurate project design implementation and supervise engineers within your specialty.
- Create and audit communications engineering analyses, design schematics, calculations, documentation, and material/equipment requirements.
- Address technical issues in communications engineering by applying accepted codes, standards, and principles.
- Identify critical investigative factors through problem analysis and organize research and analysis efforts.
- Contribute to the innovation and refinement of communications engineering methodologies.
- Offer expert recommendations on design and construction techniques.
- Authorize major amendments to specifications, plans, work methods, and materials used.
- Set and manage work priorities and schedules.
- Develop proposals and cost estimates for communications engineering projects.
- Oversee implementation of quality assurance plans.
- Guide fellow engineers and professional staff technically.
- Suggest staffing decisions and identify training and professional development opportunities.
- Manage and supervise either large groups of professionals and support staff or smaller groups of specialized engineers.
- Participate in performance evaluations and advise on staffing matters.
- Accountable for unit outputs and quality deliverables.
- Authorize timesheets for team members.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering and professional registration as an engineer with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
- Proven expertise in oil & gas, hydrocarbon processing, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure sectors with recognition as a communications engineering specialist on large-scale projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of communications engineering practices, economics, calculation techniques, design criteria, applicable international codes and standards, and technical procedures.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Possession of a valid BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
