Position Summary

The Lead Steward supports the stewarding supervisor and Executive Steward by overseeing the department to ensure standards and requirements are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all ware-washing machinery is operational.
• Maintain cleanliness across all back-of-house areas including kitchens and storage walk-ins.
• Manage food delivery and breakdown of banquet event stations.
• Oversee the kitchen recycling initiatives.
• Assist the Executive Chef with special projects and requests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least one year of stewarding experience in a luxury resort setting.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with Opera is preferred.
• Fluency in the primary workplace language for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
• Competence in preparing and analyzing data and computer-generated reports.
• Fundamental knowledge of hotel stewarding operations and basic computer skills.

Physical Demands

• Ability to be mobile standing and walking for up to six hours per day.
• Capability to lift regularly between 15 to 40 pounds.
• Facility to perform tasks involving bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching as required.
• Finger dexterity needed to operate office equipment.

Compensation and Additional Information

The role offers a base pay rate of $24.45 per hour, exclusive of any additional incentive payments. Montage upholds equal employment opportunities, maintains a drug-free environment, and conducts pre-employment substance abuse screening.
