Lead Software Engineer - Cyber Engineering Blockchain

As a Lead Software Engineer in Cybersecurity & Tech Controls at JPMorgan Chase, you will be a pivotal member of an agile team focused on designing, developing, testing, and deploying secure software that safeguards the firm's blockchain and distributed ledger systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement security monitoring controls specifically tailored for blockchain technologies.
• Develop and sustain modern software tools utilizing API-first designs, microservices, and event-driven approaches emphasizing resilience, scalability, and performance.
• Manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines incorporating automated tests and security checkpoints such as code quality verification, dependency and secrets scanning, and policy enforcement.
• Integrate secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including threat modeling, secure code reviews, vulnerability mitigation, and maintaining secure configuration standards.
• Collaborate across teams including Architecture, Cybersecurity, Risk, and product/operations to align blockchain security telemetry and operational needs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship through review processes and promote best engineering practices across squads.
• Enhance production reliability through readiness planning, incident analysis and driving continuous improvement.
• Participate in technical evaluations during proof-of-concept exercises and vendor assessments, providing domain expertise for architecture and product decisions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related field.
• Over 5 years of experience building security analytics platforms such as Splunk within large-scale or global enterprises.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages for automation and integration purposes.
• In-depth knowledge of data handling within security analytics contexts including data ingestion, parsing, and normalization.
• Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to resolve complex problems.
• Experience working in Agile environments using standard Agile frameworks.
• Working understanding of cybersecurity best practices, risk management, security architecture, and engineering.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, laws, and ethics related to cybersecurity in the financial industry, both domestic and international.
