Lead SAP SD Consultant

Overview

We seek an accomplished Lead SAP SD Consultant based in Kolkata with 8 to 15 years of solid SAP experience. This role focuses on leading implementations, rollouts, enhancements, and sustained support within SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) including S/4HANA Sales modules, encompassing complete Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle activities such as sales order processing, pricing, delivery, and billing integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all SAP SD functional design and implementation efforts.
• Collect and analyze business requirements, translating them into effective SAP SD solutions.
• Configure and customize SAP SD functionalities spanning sales inquiries, quotations, orders, pricing strategies, availability checks, logistics, billing, returns, credit/debit transactions, and third-party sales processes.
• Lead process design and continuous enhancement of Order-to-Cash operations.
• Work extensively on SAP S/4HANA Sales and Fiori interfaces where applicable.
• Develop and manage functional specifications, including enhancements, interfaces, reports, forms, workflows, and integrations.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including FI, MM, PP, WM/EWM modules.
• Support external system integrations utilizing IDocs, EDI, or other interfaces.
• Lead critical project phases such as SIT, UAT, defect management, cutover, and go-live tasks.
• Provide production troubleshooting support and perform root cause analysis for critical issues.
• Mentor junior and mid-level consultants within the SAP SD team.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders, offshore/onshore teams, and technical groups.
• Generate comprehensive documentation including functional specs, testing scripts, and end-user manuals.
• Engage in solution architecture discussions and drive process improvements.

Technical Expertise Required

• 8 to 15 years of experience in SAP SD with exposure to multiple project lifecycles including implementations, support, and rollouts.
• Strong proficiency with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA Sales modules.
• Deep understanding of enterprise structures, customer/material master data, sales document types, item categories, schedule lines, copy controls, pricing procedures, condition techniques, output determination, delivery/shipment, billing, account determination, credit management, availability checks, and partner determination.
• Strong knowledge of integration points between SD and modules like FI and MM.
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori and S/4HANA business processes considered advantageous.
• Experience with IDocs, EDI, APIs, and interface integration technologies is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

Educational and Certification Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Business, or related fields.
• Relevant SAP certification in SD or S/4HANA Sales preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Background in SAP S/4HANA transformation or migration engagements.
• Participation in at least one complete implementation cycle or significant rollout.
• Experience collaborating with global clients and distributed teams.
• Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and Agile project execution.
• Prior experience in AMS/support and SLA-oriented production support environments.
