Position Summary

We are looking to appoint a Lead Intensivist experienced in delivering comprehensive critical care within the ICU. The selected candidate will be accountable for assessing, stabilizing, diagnosing, treating, and managing critically ill patients by collaborating closely with various medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver round-the-clock or scheduled critical care to patients in the ICU.
• Evaluate and manage patients with acute medical, surgical, infectious, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
• Conduct and lead ICU rounds, crafting personalized treatment plans.
• Oversee mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic issues, sepsis, shock, acute renal failure, and other critical states.
• Perform endotracheal intubations and manage advanced airway procedures, including emergency airway interventions.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including consultants, surgeons, emergency physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and dietitians.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies with resuscitation and stabilization interventions.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients' families about diagnoses, prognoses, treatment approaches, and care goals.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of clinical evaluations, treatment strategies, procedures, and patient progress.
• Champion infection control and patient safety protocols within the ICU.
• Engage in morbidity and mortality conferences, clinical audits, teaching, training, and quality improvement projects.
• Adhere strictly to hospital policies, clinical protocol standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership and management to the ICU team.

Qualifications and Eligibility

• Medical qualification of MBBS or equivalent.
• MD/DNB in General Medicine, Anaesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, or a related specialty.
• Mandatory Fellowship/DM/DNB in Critical Care Medicine.
• Active and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
• Proven ICU experience managing critically ill patients post postgraduate qualification for at least 3 years.

Work Schedule and Conditions

• Standard working hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• On-call duties as dictated by hospital protocols.
