  • Establish and maintain HVAC engineering standards, methodologies, procedures, and quality benchmarks aligned with project and corporate requirements.
  • Ensure HVAC solutions meet international codes, client specifications, classification society criteria, regulatory mandates, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Oversee HVAC load calculations, ventilation, equipment sizing, air distribution, pressurization, cooling/heating systems, and hazardous area designs.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts with process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, safety, marine, structural, and execution teams to ensure integrated outcomes.
  • Review and approve vendor documentation, technical bids, equipment packages, deviations, and contractor engineering submissions.
  • Lead design reviews, operability and constructability assessments, technical risk analysis, and engineering assurance activities.
  • Assist project execution by resolving technical challenges, evaluating alternatives, and supporting key engineering decisions.
  • Engage with clients, conduct technical audits, participate in engineering reviews, and support regulatory and classification approvals related to HVAC engineering.
  • Support construction phases including commissioning, startup, testing, troubleshooting, and operational readiness to guarantee seamless project delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate engineering risks, manage technical issues, and handle design changes effectively.
  • Mentor HVAC engineers and discipline leads, fostering professional development, knowledge sharing, and succession planning.
  • Champion innovation, adoption of digital engineering tools, standardization, continuous improvement, and promote energy-efficient HVAC engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, HVAC, Building Services Engineering or related field, with a preference for master’s or professional engineer credentials.
  • At least 15 years of HVAC engineering experience within EPC, offshore, marine, power generation, renewable energy, industrial, or large capital projects, including leadership roles.
  • Proven expertise leading FPSO HVAC engineering through all project stages: concept, FEED, detailed design, construction support, commissioning, startup, and handover.
  • Deep knowledge of HVAC design principles for FPSO, encompassing load calculations, ventilation, cooling/heating, pressurization, hazardous areas, environmental control, and energy efficiency.
  • Experience managing complex interfaces among engineering, procurement, construction, vendors, clients, regulatory bodies, and classification societies.
  • Proficiency in delivering technically sound decisions addressing system selection, equipment sizing, safety, operability, constructability, and lifecycle optimization.
  • Strong familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, regulatory compliance, quality assurance protocols, and technical review processes.
  • Capability to perform technical risk assessments, design reviews, engineering governance, and troubleshooting of sophisticated HVAC systems.
  • Ability to mentor and develop engineering teams, implement continuous improvement strategies, and promote engineering excellence.
  • Commercial acumen to balance project scope with schedule, cost, safety, operability, and maintainability.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, negotiation, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills in English.
