Position Overview
This role demands an accomplished leader with a strong blend of management expertise and technical hands-on ability. The successful candidate will direct teams, influence stakeholders, and provide clear technical guidance while mentoring members to promote high-standard results. Responsible for the vulnerability management function, this role will lead vulnerability assessments, scrutinize scanning outcomes, and prioritize remediations across the organization’s IT assets, thereby significantly enhancing its cybersecurity stance.
The engineer will serve as a pivotal technical authority, resolving complex security challenges within heterogeneous networks and systems. Maintaining the asset inventory’s accuracy and aligning remediation actions with operational and business priorities are key. Combining technical expertise with sound judgment and clear communication to senior leadership will be essential. This contract is a two-year engagement based in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide projects and routine activities to meet deadlines, scope, and quality benchmarks.
- Manage expectations among technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Champion process improvements and lead teams through dynamic changes.
- Assume accountability for comprehensive outcomes beyond assigned tasks.
- Develop, implement, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs), governance, and compliance frameworks.
- Possess broad knowledge across infrastructure systems such as hypervisors, servers, firewalls, and networks, including operating systems like Windows, UNIX, and iOS.
- Apply expertise in cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot infrastructure connectivity issues with vulnerability tools.
- Conduct root cause analyses on IT and network components to aid vulnerability remediation and ensure operational stability.
- Process and manipulate extensive vulnerability and asset data to enable informed decisions.
- Produce detailed reports integrating vulnerability status with asset health and network conditions.
- Handle vulnerability-related queries promptly, including those related to configuration, connectivity, and hardware/software details.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of vulnerability tools per company policies, ensuring asset tracking and configuration management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to oversee vulnerability reporting, remediation, and IT asset lifecycle.
- Perform routine audits to guarantee compliance with organizational policies, ITIL frameworks, and industry standards.
- Maintain and update SOPs for vulnerability and asset management.
- Remain abreast of cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and industry best practices to continually enhance program robustness.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum two years experience managing a team of at least four personnel.
- At least four years of focused experience in vulnerability management.
- Background in IT infrastructure support or systems administration is advantageous.
- Proven strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for complex IT and network environments.
- Hands-on proficiency with Python scripting for data processing, analysis, automation, and management of operational workflows.
- Experience with vulnerability management tools, database querying, Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word).
- Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure components, including networks, endpoints, operating systems, and hardware assets.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices, asset management principles, and network troubleshooting methods is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
