About the Role
A boutique building services consultancy in Perth, Western Australia, known for delivering customised and flexible solutions while putting client interests first, is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer. This firm blends extensive industry experience and technical knowledge across key building services disciplines to provide integrated, multi-disciplinary services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical system design, prepare detailed documentation, and oversee contract administration duties.
- Carry out design work adhering strictly to all relevant Australian codes, the National Construction Code (NCC), and internal company standards and project briefs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing internal processes, including design and calculation tools.
- Maintain a proactive engagement with clients to foster strong relationships.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
- At least eight years of experience designing electrical services specifically for Australian building projects.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as PowerCAD, Dialux (likely Dialix typo), and AGI.
- Competency with general design software including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office suite.
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is highly valued, though not mandatory.
- Thorough understanding of the National Construction Code and Australian Standards related to building services engineering.
- Strong grasp of design documentation workflows and procedures.
- Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in client interaction and business development activities, capable of securing and successfully delivering projects.
- Diverse project experience across various types, with healthcare project exposure considered a plus.
- Demonstrated capability to mentor and lead engineering teams effectively.
Educational Qualifications
Possession of a recognized tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline is required.
