About the Role
Join Flutter UK & Ireland, the world’s largest sports betting and iGaming group powering top brands like Paddy Power, Betfair, and Sky Betting & Gaming. As a Lead Data Scientist within the pricing team, you will spearhead the design and deployment of innovative data science solutions that drive pricing strategies and optimisation across these platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Innovate and implement advanced data science techniques for pricing, including predictive models that guide strategic pricing decisions.
- Perform detailed statistical analyses and manipulate complex data sets from experiments to recognize patterns and extract actionable insights.
- Oversee the planning and execution of pricing experiments using rigorous statistical methodologies to ensure reliable, actionable output.
- Develop automated monitoring tools to track multiple pricing experiments, comparing outcomes against expectations and informing the wider team.
- Maintain thorough documentation of experiment protocols, statistical approaches, and results to promote clarity and reproducibility.
- Deliver clear, comprehensive presentations of experimental findings, elucidating impacts on broader business strategies.
- Collaborate with various departments including commercial, finance, and product teams to align analytical insights with corporate goals.
- Provide leadership to senior data scientists by managing workloads, coordinating focus areas, and fostering their professional development.
Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience guiding data science teams, particularly in customer-focused or commercial environments.
- Strong command of advanced analytics and data processing tools such as Python, SQL, Excel, and Tableau.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative aptitude with a history of interpreting complex datasets successfully.
- Practical knowledge in experimental design including defining parameters, sampling, and controlling test groups.
- Expertise in sophisticated statistical modeling methods including regression, significance testing, clustering, A/B testing, and time series analysis.
- Meticulous documentation abilities coupled with strong communication capabilities for diverse audiences.
- Keen problem solver with a proactive mindset in identifying and executing operational improvements.
- Ability to multitask and manage several analytical projects under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective partnerships across teams and organization levels.
- Experience in pricing strategy and projects within large organizational contexts is highly desirable.
