Role Overview
The Lead Data Scientist will manage and execute analytics projects, designing data-driven models and solutions that produce scalable, high-quality results. The role involves collaboration with Oliver Wyman consulting teams and direct interaction with international clients, supporting various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with consulting teams and partners to comprehend client business issues.
- Analyze extensive datasets and develop models addressing key business questions.
- Partner with leadership to craft proposals demonstrating the team's analytic capabilities.
- Communicate and refine model insights and architecture for stakeholder understanding.
- Promote best practices in modeling and software code standards.
- Lead the creation of proprietary statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and analytical tools.
- Travel globally as needed to engage with clients and deliver tailored solutions.
- Stay current with emerging data science and modeling techniques relevant to the domain.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in quantitative fields such as Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Informatics, or Engineering from reputable institutions.
- Proven experience in machine learning, data science, and analytics.
- Strong problem-solving abilities applying big data and analytics solutions.
- Methodical and impact-focused approach to delivering results.
- Capable of independently managing workload and meeting deadlines in fast-paced settings.
- Effective presentation and communication skills, with full proficiency in English.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
- Team-oriented with a commitment to confidentiality.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Python (mandatory) and familiarity with SQL, R, and SAS.
- Experience with machine learning libraries such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, Theano, Torch, Caffe, or MxNet.
- Practical knowledge of deploying large-scale analytic solutions.
- Solid grounding in mathematical and statistical principles underlying data science.
- Knowledge of cloud storage solutions, big data management, and computational frameworks.
- Bonus: Participation in open-source projects or community contributions, presentations at data science conferences, and domain expertise in Financial Services or other key sectors.
