Role Overview
The Laundry Supervisor position is a full-time, on-site role based in Sharjah. The supervisor is responsible for managing daily laundry operations and supervising the team. Key duties involve allocating tasks, overseeing workflow, ensuring washing, drying, ironing, and folding meet required hygiene and quality benchmarks. The role also includes coordinating the handling of garments and linens, controlling inventory, and ensuring maintenance and proper use of laundry machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the laundry team to achieve operational efficiency and quality standards.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor the workflow of washing, drying, ironing and folding processes.
- Ensure all laundry procedures comply with hygiene and quality regulations.
- Maintain inventory levels and supervise proper usage and upkeep of laundry equipment.
- Troubleshoot operational challenges and support team training and development.
- Enforce workplace safety and cleanliness standards rigorously.
- Liaise effectively with management and customers to address concerns and updates.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in operational or service settings.
- Practical knowledge of laundry services including fabric care, stain removal, sorting, and equipment handling.
- Strong communication skills to manage staff instructions and respond to customer or management inquiries.
- Good organizational ability to prioritize tasks and maintain cleanliness and quality consistently.
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety practices relevant to laundry environments.
- Experience in commercial or industrial laundry services is preferred.
- Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in hospitality or textiles is advantageous.
