Laundry Supervisor

Position Summary

The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for managing the complete inventory of uniforms and linens, as well as conducting monthly checks of laundry supplies. This role involves reporting any faulty machinery, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to the manager or supervisor. The supervisor trains staff on proper laundry procedures, including safety and equipment use, and ensures laundry requests for each department are fulfilled efficiently. Daily duties include operating and monitoring washing, dry cleaning, and drying machines, plus inspecting linens and terry cloth items for damage.

Employee Management

Supporting management tasks such as recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching team members forms a crucial part of this position. The supervisor must enforce company safety and security policies, report any hazards or accidents, and complete relevant safety training and certifications.

The role demands maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information, protecting company assets, and communicating clearly and professionally. Developing positive working relationships within the team and supporting collective objectives are essential. The supervisor ensures compliance with quality standards and actively suggests innovations to improve productivity, efficiency, safety, and cost-saving measures.

Physical Requirements

• Inspect tools, equipment, or machinery for defects visually.
• Stand, sit, or walk continuously for full work shifts.
• Handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.
• Navigate confined or elevated spaces, uneven or slippery surfaces, stairs, and service ramps.
• Perform activities requiring bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and reaching.

Additional Duties

Other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors must be performed as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience in a related field.
• At least one year prior supervisory experience.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
