Role Overview
The Laundry Room Attendant is essential for the hygienic and efficient processing of all laundry at a leading Dexterra camp facility. Responsibilities include operating commercial laundry machinery to wash, dry, fold, and store linens and uniforms used throughout the site.
Laundry Items Managed
- Bed linens (such as sheets, pillowcases, and blankets)
- Towels and washcloths
- Staff and site uniforms
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting, sorting, and processing laundry across the facility
- Operating commercial washers and dryers following established protocols
- Washing, drying, folding, and organizing all linens and uniforms
- Ensuring laundry separation to avoid cross-contamination
- Folding and storing clean items in assigned areas
- Keeping accurate counts and tracking of linens as necessary
- Regularly cleaning lint traps, machines, and the laundry workspace
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the laundry room
- Reporting equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly
- Adhering strictly to safety guidelines
- Helping housekeeping teams with linen distribution when required
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in laundry services, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning preferred
- Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment is advantageous
- Sound knowledge of laundry hygiene and safety practices
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Physically able to stand for long periods and lift weights ranging from 35 to 50 pounds
- Committed to following safety and infection control procedures
