Laundry Assistant

Position Overview

The Laundry Assistant is responsible for executing daily laundry tasks to meet patient laundry requirements, adhering strictly to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of high school or equivalent is desired.
• Previous experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous.

Role Expectations

• Exercise independent judgment when necessary.
• Possess knowledge of the operational procedures, legal regulations, and guidelines pertinent to a post-acute care facility.
• Effectively apply departmental programs, goals, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all essential areas including patient rights, safety protocols, and sanitation standards.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Safeguard confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information.
• Comply with organizational policies covering harassment, compliance procedures, and uphold integrity aligned with the Code of Conduct.

Core Duties

• Perform comprehensive laundry operations such as collecting, sorting, ironing, folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing laundry items.
• Provide outstanding customer service exhibiting a positive demeanor toward patients.
• Support patient evacuation processes as required.
• Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance.
• Utilize concentration, sound reasoning, and good judgment in daily activities.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Physically engage in activities including sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during shifts.
• Possess proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English.
