Job description
Position Summary
The Laundry Assistant is responsible for performing daily laundry duties to ensure that patients' laundry requirements are met according to relevant laws, regulations, and Life Care Centers of America's standards. This role demands attention to detail, professionalism, and adherence to healthcare environment protocols.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Carry out routine laundry tasks such as collecting, sorting, ironing, folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing laundry items efficiently.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining a positive demeanor towards patients and colleagues.
- Assist with patient evacuation procedures when necessary.
- Maintain consistent and dependable attendance.
- Apply sound reasoning, concentration, and good judgment during work activities.
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to achieve operational goals.
- Engage in physical activities including sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently throughout shifts.
- Communicate effectively and comprehend written and spoken English.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Preferred education level: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
- Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
- Familiarity with practices, procedures, and regulations relevant to post-acute care facilities.
- Capability to understand and apply departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
- Competency in patient rights, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain professional relationships with associates, vendors, and others.
- Ensure confidentiality of proprietary or sensitive information.
- Comply with company policies including harassment and compliance guidelines.
- Exhibit integrity and professionalism by adhering to company Code of Conduct and completing necessary compliance training.
