Landscape Gardener

Overview

Green by Nature invites applications for a skilled Landscape Gardener to enhance and maintain commercial green spaces across diverse locations including educational institutions, councils, and property developments. This role encompasses both the construction and upkeep of landscapes ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Primary Duties

• Perform lawn care including mowing, edging, trimming, and aeration meeting quality benchmarks
• Prepare soil beds and plant various flora as per landscaping blueprints
• Conduct pruning of trees, shrubs, and hedges and manage weed control
• Apply appropriate fertilizers, compost, and soil conditioners
• Diagnose and treat plant pests and diseases utilizing suitable techniques
• Install, regularly inspect, and maintain irrigation systems
• Support the building and maintenance of pathways, garden beds, retaining structures, and drainage
• Operate and upkeep landscaping machinery such as ride-on mowers, tractors, and Ventracs
• Properly remove and dispose of green waste and debris
• Adhere strictly to workplace health, safety, and environmental protocols

Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate III in Landscape Construction or equal credential
• Proven experience in commercial landscaping or grounds upkeep roles
• Competence in safely operating landscaping machinery and tools
• Strong knowledge of plant care, soil management, and irrigation operations
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within team settings
• Comprehensive understanding of workplace safety requirements

Mandatory Certifications

• Possession of or readiness to obtain a White Card (Construction Induction)
• Holding or willingness to acquire a Working with Children Check
• National Police Check or preparedness to secure one

Employment Details and Benefits

• Permanent, full-time employment status
• Annual remuneration between $70,000 and $80,000, plus superannuation, contingent on experience
