Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests on soil, rock, and construction materials according to established standards and protocols.
• Prepare and handle test samples and specimens with correct identification and proper storage.
• Operate and ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments to guarantee test accuracy and consistency.
• Adhere to safety guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.
• Assist senior laboratory staff in specialized testing procedures and preparation of technical reports.
• Engage in ongoing technical training and professional development to enhance expertise.

Requirements

• A diploma or degree in Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, Earth Sciences, or closely related disciplines.
• 1 to 2 years of practical experience in a comparable laboratory technician role.
• Knowledge of relevant testing standards such as BS, ASTM, ISO, BS EN, and ISRM methodologies.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
