Laboratory Analyst

Job Overview

This position within SABIL's Quality Assurance department involves conducting comprehensive grain quality assessments across multiple branches including Riyadh, Al Kharj, Wadi Al Dawaser, Alqassim, Hail, Dammam, Jeddah, and Yanbu.

Key Duties

• Collect grain samples ensuring randomness and representation by sourcing from different batches and stages such as shipment arrival, storage, and dispatch.
• Obtain samples from multiple container locations and transition points (e.g., combine to truck, truck to bin) to achieve an accurate composite sampling.
• Handle all grain samples meticulously to preserve their integrity for precise laboratory analysis.
• Execute grain-specific tests adhering strictly to SABIL’s protocols using approved samples to maintain uniformity.
• Maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory instruments and related grain sample analysis tools with accuracy.
• Perform detailed grain testing and data analysis, benchmarking results against SABIL quality standards and past data.
• Analyze grain condition both before and after evaporation processes to identify and address quality concerns effectively.
• Inspect stored grains periodically to verify quality retention in compliance with company standards.
• Comply fully with all grain safety, quality assurance, and regulatory guidelines.
• Document and archive all laboratory analyses to facilitate quality control, future reference, and comprehensive insights.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure ongoing silo cleanliness to prevent contamination from pests and dust, aligning with organizational safety regulations.
• Record detailed protocols and results related to all chemical handling, experiments, tests, and analyses to ensure traceability and safety.
• Strictly follow safety procedures, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring necessary laboratory ventilation.
• Manage safe handling, storage, usage, and disposal of chemicals, understanding hazards and procedures tied to each chemical involved in grain analysis.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Preferred prior experience in agriculture or the food industry.
• Open to fresh graduates or candidates with up to three years of relevant experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific field is required.
