Kitchen Steward

Overview

Become an essential part of our hospitality team as a full-time Kitchen Steward, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our hotel's kitchen and dining service areas. This role supports chefs and kitchen staff by ensuring equipment and utensils are spotless, organized, and safe to use, contributing to an outstanding guest dining experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen environment clean by washing, sanitizing, and properly storing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment following hotel protocols.
• Operate dishwashing machines carefully and efficiently, handling cleaning agents with responsibility.
• Ensure cleanliness of floors, walls, counters, and storage spaces, maintaining a safe and orderly workspace.
• Manage disposal of kitchen waste hygienically and promptly report any equipment damage, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to management.
• Support restaurant and banquet functions by maintaining a steady supply of clean service ware during operation.
• Assist chefs and kitchen personnel with basic food preparation tasks when needed to facilitate smooth kitchen operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet scheduling needs in a fast-paced team environment.
• Preferred but not mandatory previous experience in stewarding, housekeeping, or similar cleaning roles.
• Understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe usage, sanitation standards, and proper operation of kitchen equipment.
• Adept in safety procedures specific to kitchen settings.
• Dependable and detail-oriented, with strong teamwork skills and a positive, proactive approach.
• Ability to handle physical demands such as standing, walking, bending, repetitive motions, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds in a high-temperature, humid atmosphere.
