Kitchen Porter

Overview

Wilson Vale is seeking to appoint a Kitchen Porter to strengthen our team at a workplace restaurant located in London EC2N 4BQ. This permanent position involves working full-time hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, supporting our vibrant two-floor City of London café. Serving up to 200 covers on busy midweek days, this role is integral to maintaining the smooth functioning and high standards of our kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen areas, equipment, and workspaces.
• Handle dishwashing and upkeep of kitchen tools and surfaces.
• Assist with basic food preparation and support service during breakfast, lunch, and occasional evening events.
• Ensure the kitchen remains well-organized, safe, and adherent to health and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with a team of 12 to deliver consistent and quality service.

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous experience in a kitchen porter or equivalent role within a similar environment.
• Ability to remain organised and efficient under pressure in a busy setting.
• Commitment to upholding food hygiene standards and health and safety policies.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication capabilities.
• Basic knowledge of food handling and preparation.
• A positive, can-do attitude with enthusiasm for teamwork and collaboration.
