About the Role

The Kitchen Leader role involves hands-on food preparation including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, ensuring delicious quality every day. This position is pivotal to maintaining kitchen cleanliness, organizing inventory, and equipment upkeep while acting as a mentor to fellow Crew members, promoting teamwork and excellent customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food following Chipotle’s guidelines to ensure high food quality and safety.
• Monitor inventory levels and food waste, addressing any food quality concerns promptly.
• Foster effective teamwork between kitchen and front-of-house staff.
• Train Crew members to grow into Kitchen Leader roles.
• Communicate with team members and customers to maintain excellent service flow.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area consistently.
• Oversee kitchen equipment condition and promptly arrange repairs if needed.
• Ensure staff and kitchen meet health and safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Complete required documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and apply First In First Out (FIFO) inventory practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Understanding and ability to articulate Chipotle’s "Food With Integrity" philosophy.
• Fluency in the primary language(s) used at the worksite, both spoken and written.
• Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma.
• Previous experience working in a restaurant setting.
• Availability for at least four days weekly, including two days among Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, with flexibility to work any eight-hour shift on those days.
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 32 working hours per week.
