Role Overview
The Kitchen Leader plays a crucial role in ensuring the preparation of high-quality, delicious food while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment. This position involves grilling, sautéing vegetables, and overseeing food quality, inventory, and kitchen equipment upkeep. Additionally, the Kitchen Leader is responsible for training and developing Crew members into future leaders, fostering teamwork, and guaranteeing a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures related to kitchen operations.
- Preparing and cooking food according to orders, maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
- Monitoring inventory levels and minimizing food waste; promptly addressing any food quality concerns.
- Supporting and encouraging collaboration between back-of-house and front-of-house teams.
- Mentoring Crew members to develop their skills and leadership potential.
- Communicating effectively with team members and customers to ensure seamless service and high throughput.
- Keeping the kitchen clean and sanitized according to regulatory standards.
- Maintaining kitchen equipment to ensure operational efficiency and timely repairs if malfunctions occur.
- Ensuring compliance with safety guidelines to prevent workplace injuries and accidents.
- Completing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and managing inventory rotation with FIFO principles.
Candidate Profile
- Strong understanding and commitment to Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy.
- Ability to effectively communicate in the primary language(s) of the workplace, both verbally and in writing.
- Minimum education of a high school diploma.
- Prior experience working in a restaurant environment.
- Availability to work at least four days per week, including two days over Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, with openness to any eight-hour shifts during those days.
- Capacity to work a minimum of 32 hours weekly.
