Role Overview
The position is a full-time, on-site Kitchen Helper located in the Greater Toronto Area. The primary responsibilities involve assisting in daily kitchen operations by supporting basic food preparation, organizing ingredients, and keeping workstations clean. Duties include washing and chopping vegetables and fruits, restocking necessary kitchen supplies, cleaning dishes and equipment, and maintaining proper hygiene and safety standards. The role may extend to performing simple cooking tasks under guidance, aiding in food and beverage service, and assisting the kitchen team during high-volume periods. Collaboration with cooks and other kitchen staff to maintain effective and safe operations is essential.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Capable of performing elementary food preparation and cooking tasks following detailed instructions and standardized recipes.
- Strong commitment to hygiene and food safety protocols, including proper cleaning and sanitation processes.
- Basic understanding of food and beverage operations, proficiency in handling kitchen tools, and working efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Customer service abilities to support front-of-house personnel and contribute to an excellent guest experience when required.
- Dependability, punctuality, physical stamina to stand for long durations, and ability to lift moderate weights as necessary throughout shifts.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with aptitude for following directions and adapting to changing priorities.
- Previous experience in kitchen or food service roles is beneficial but not mandatory; training is provided.
- Willingness to work full-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
