Role Overview
The Collaroy Centre, owned by The Salvation Army, is currently seeking a Casual Kitchen Hand to assist its catering operations. This role supports the cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen area utilized for school camps, conferences, retreats, and mission programs aimed at helping those in need.
Key Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen and catering equipment, including washing dishes and utensils.
- Perform general kitchen sanitation tasks such as sweeping and mopping floors.
- Ensure food preparation areas adhere to hygiene standards and food service procedures.
- Occasionally assist with basic food preparation like chopping vegetables.
- Engage positively in team activities, attend scheduled staff meetings, and provide support to colleagues to enhance overall team performance.
Schedule
Availability is needed seven days a week, with shifts typically running from 7am to 3pm or 5pm until approximately 8pm.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience working as a kitchen hand is preferred.
- Completion of food hygiene training is required.
- Ability to perform effectively under time constraints and manage conflicting deadlines.
