Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Mullinahinch House, located in Mullynahinch, County Monaghan, Ireland. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary career within one of Ireland’s foremost private nursing home providers, with potential advancement to a Cook position. Successful candidates will receive both in-house and further training.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the catering department and its related areas.
- Ensure the dining room is tidy, welcoming, and properly arranged.
- Follow principles of Basic Food Hygiene and HACCP rigorously.
- Prepare food items according to the cook's instructions.
- Cook under supervision and serve meals professionally.
- Ensure food presentation maintains high standards.
- Manage kitchen stock responsibly, aiming for resource efficiency.
- Encourage colleagues to use resources economically as well.
- Contribute to a home-like atmosphere prioritizing each resident's individuality, privacy, dignity, independence, and choice.
Additional Information
- Work Schedule: Full-time, 9.5-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Meals provided during shifts over 8 hours.
