About the Role

Navaan is seeking a meticulous and skilled Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) Publisher to oversee the entire publishing process of books on Amazon’s KDP platform. The ideal candidate must be proficient in managing both eBook and print formats from manuscript preparation through final publication independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle the complete KDP publishing lifecycle from account setup to book launch on Amazon.
• Format manuscripts properly for Kindle and printed versions adhering to KDP’s technical standards.
• Check and validate interior book details such as trim size, margins, bleed, and overall print-readiness.
• Upload book cover files meeting KDP’s requirements and ensure accurate display.
• Prepare Kindle editions with flawless digital formatting and functionality.
• Use KDP Print Previewer to verify print files and address any formatting or technical defects.
• Configure and optimize Amazon book listings including title, subtitle, description, author data, categories, keywords, pricing, royalties, territories, and distribution options.
• Perform thorough quality assurance reviews and KDP preview checks before submitting manuscripts.
• Resolve issues related to KDP validation, manage rejections, corrections, and resubmissions until approval.
• Track the publishing progress to confirm books go live and are available for purchase.
• Double-check metadata, format accuracy, pricing, and listing presentation post-publication.
• Maintain detailed records of publishing settings and final outputs for internal documentation and handover.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven hands-on experience publishing books on Amazon KDP platform.
• In-depth knowledge of Kindle and print book formatting standards and best practices.
• Proficiency in using KDP Previewer and Kindle Previewer tools for file validation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and fix format, layout, cover, and technical challenges.
• Understanding of Amazon’s book metadata management including category selection, keyword optimization, pricing models, royalties, and distribution strategies.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality assurance.
• Ability to independently manage all stages of publishing with minimal oversight.

Preference will be given to candidates who have published multiple titles on the Amazon KDP platform.
