Job description
About the Role
IFX Payments is expanding its funds desk based in Dubai, UAE, currently staffed with a funds specialist and recently onboarded fund clients. We are seeking two Key Relationship Managers specializing in funds to enhance our presence within the DIFC and ADGM financial centers. The role centers on establishing and nurturing trust-based relationships with fund managers, administrators, corporate service providers, and other participants in the fund ecosystem.
Your expertise in fund structuring, administration, and banking will be essential to position IFX as the preferred partner for multi-currency accounts, foreign exchange, and payment solutions across complex fund structures including SPVs and portfolios.
This position involves handling the entire sales lifecycle—from client introduction and needs assessment to onboarding and ongoing account expansion—with significant opportunities to influence the growth trajectory of the new desk.
Key Duties
- Conduct extensive market research to map out the funds landscape including key players such as fund managers, family offices, administrators, service providers, legal and auditing firms.
- Identify and prioritize prospective clients and monitor fund market developments, including new launches, licensing, and regulatory updates that provide business opportunities.
- Develop client pipelines through networking, referrals, industry gatherings, and leveraging partner networks; actively represent IFX at events in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
- Drive the comprehensive sales process: discovery, bespoke solution creation, proposals, negotiations, and deal closures tailored to meet client fund structures.
- Communicate IFX’s offerings effectively to key decision-makers including managing partners and senior finance and operations personnel.
- Coordinate with compliance and onboarding teams to ensure swift KYC and account activation, managing client expectations throughout onboarding.
- Expand existing client relationships by supporting new fund and SPV launches, adding currencies and payment options, and conducting regular account reviews to explore cross-selling and referral opportunities.
- Cultivate strong referral partnerships with fund administrators and service providers to generate multiple client introductions.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date client interaction records and sales pipeline data using Salesforce, reporting sales progress to leadership and adapting strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with marketing for targeted campaigns, events, and content specific to funds; provide market insights to influence product and pricing strategies.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with DFSA and FSRA regulatory requirements and internal policies, working closely with compliance on AML, KYC, and sanctions adherence.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive knowledge of the UAE funds environment, including fund administration, corporate services, private banking, custody, or transaction banking.
- Well-versed in the mechanisms by which funds and SPVs are created, managed, and banked in DIFC and ADGM, including a sound understanding of DFSA and FSRA regulations.
- Proven network within the fund management and services community in the UAE.
- Results-oriented with a history of successfully generating new business or influencing revenue streams, irrespective of formal sales roles.
- Confident in leading discussions with senior executives and simplifying complex FX and cross-border payment concepts.
- Highly organized, diligent with follow-up, and proficient in CRM tools.
- Fluency in English is required; command of Arabic or other regional languages is advantageous.
- Preferred experience includes FX, payments, transaction banking, and familiarity with onboarding and KYC for multi-layered fund structures.
- A degree in finance, business, or related disciplines, or equivalent professional experience is desirable.
Work Ethic and Style
- Focus on relationship-building, emphasizing trust and reputation in a niche market.
- Proactive self-starter comfortable establishing new initiatives rather than inheriting existing portfolios.
- Collaborative team player sharing referrals across departments and committed to the overall success of the funds vertical.
Benefits
- Enrollment in a Defined Employee Wealth Scheme (DEWS).
- Comprehensive private health coverage.
- Annual leave: 25 days plus an additional day for your birthday.
- Opportunity to participate in a Work from Abroad program for up to two weeks per year.
- Loyalty holiday scheme granting an extra day of leave after every three years of service.
- Annual flight allowance.
- Enhanced maternity and paternity benefits available after one year of employment.
