Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Exhibit kindness, authenticity, and promote a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Offer exceptional customer service by tailoring recommendations to meet individual customer preferences and needs.
- Collaborate with team members to uphold a positive culture and ensure safety for customers and staff.
- Handle transactions efficiently using Lightspeed POS, including sales, voids, discounts, and promotions.
- Take responsibility for store opening and closing procedures.
- Adapt flexibly to unforeseen challenges, solving problems promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a curious attitude towards learning about various cannabis products, strains, categories, and accessories.
- Carry out accurate inventory tracking and reporting.
- Follow all regulatory frameworks, company policies, and procedures consistently.
- Operate independently with confidence.
- Manage merchandising and restocking to keep product availability optimal.
- Utilize the company’s comprehensive cannabis and sales education program.
Non-Negotiable Standards
- Hold valid Sellsafe certification (Alberta) or Cannsell certification (Ontario).
- Verify customer IDs to ensure eligibility.
- Understand and comply with cannabis regulations, respecting your professional qualification.
- Maintain reliable and transparent communication within the team.
- Show enthusiasm, friendliness, and pride in contributing to recreational cannabis and its evolving culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Must meet legal age requirements and possess the appropriate provincial license for cannabis handling (strictly mandatory).
- Commit to obtaining relevant cannabis qualifications as guided by the company.
- Prior experience in retail and customer service environments.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Strong time management and multitasking capabilities.
- A genuine desire to learn and grow within the company.
- Availability to work across multiple locations to increase hours and career development opportunities.
- Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Physical capability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
