About the Role

Waxys is an emerging startup based in Bengaluru seeking a Junior Video Editor to join its foundational creative team. This position is suitable for recent graduates or professionals with limited experience who possess a strong aptitude for editing, particularly in social media contexts, and are eager to advance their skills rapidly in a dynamic startup environment.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Apply a thorough understanding of video editing principles, including timing and narrative flow.
• Edit various video formats such as social media reels, user-generated content advertisements, brand videos, and other digital content.
• Demonstrate a refined sense for selecting music, cuts, transitions, captions, and maintaining visual rhythm.
• Perform basic color correction, audio cleaning, and incorporate motion graphics as needed.
• Utilize editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or similar software proficiently.
• Interpret creative references effectively and transform raw footage into compelling final videos.
• Collaborate closely with content creators and the production team, maintaining clear communication.
• Display openness to feedback, fast learning, and a willingness to experiment with different editing techniques.
• Provide a portfolio or showreel showcasing your editing capabilities.

Additional Details

• Position location: Bengaluru South, Karnataka, India.
• Salary range: ₹200000 to ₹300000 per annum.
• Work schedule: 5-day work week.
• Initial probation period of 3 months, with potential salary review and increase post-evaluation.
• This role offers the chance to be part of the company's early creative team with significant ownership of projects and fast progression aligned with company growth.
