Junior Urban Designer

Position Overview

We are searching for an enthusiastic Junior Urban Designer to contribute to planning, designing, and delivering urban development projects based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Key Duties

• Assist in creating urban design studies, conceptual plans, master plans, and frameworks for urban development.
• Support initiatives relating to public realms, streetscapes, landscaping, and placemaking projects.
• Generate detailed drawings, diagrams, presentations, and reports of high standards for urban design purposes.
• Carry out site evaluations, urban analyses, land use assessments, and comparative research exercises.
• Help prepare design guidelines, planning documentation, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with senior staff to review design submissions ensuring they meet project objectives.
• Coordinate efforts with architects, planners, landscape architects, engineers, and other stakeholders involved in projects.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related field.
• Have between one and four years of professional experience in urban design, planning, architecture, or a closely related discipline.
• A Master's degree in Urban Design or Urban Planning is a beneficial qualification.
• Exhibit strong capabilities in design, graphic communication, and visualization techniques.
• Understand urban design principles along with concepts in public realm design and placemaking.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with GIS, Revit, Rhino, Lumion, Enscape, or similar design technologies is advantageous.
• Demonstrate strong skills in report writing, analysis, and presentations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is considered a plus.
